Voluntary, Community & Faith Partnership (VCFP)
The aim of
Oldham’s Voluntary, Community and Faith Partnership is to be an active and representative body for the voluntary, community and faith groups. It exists as a body to consult, to advocate and to influence policies, planning and delivery of services in
Oldham on behalf of the Voluntary, Community and Faith Sector.
The VCFP is the strategic voice for VCF sector representation in
Oldham. The VCFP is the coordination point of all cross cutting issues that affect the VCF sector, local people and communities of interest. These issues could emerge from other VCF sector networks, thematic forums /groups or individual voluntary, community or faith organisations.
The VCFP has and will continue to develop robust partnerships with the existing and emerging VCF sector networks in
Oldham. The existing networks (Oldham LINk, Children’s Hub, LGBT Forum and Interfaith Forum) are independent of the VCFP and provide direct support and information to its members and in some cases elect their own representative to a particular thematic partnership. It is envisaged that the VCFP would be the link between these networks and the strategic group in which issues should be fed into and from the
Oldham’s Strategic Partnerships.
Where networks or themed groups are emerging these would be built into the new VCFP ‘family’ of networks
All voluntary, community and faith groups in
Oldham are able to participate in the VCFP to the level they wish to. Members will be encouraged to choose the level of participation that best suits their organisation’s needs ranging from; becoming a representative, attending meetings, to being kept up to date and receiving information.
VCF groups have two routes to becoming a member of the VCFP.
- Applying to be a group member of VAO and automatically becoming a member of the VCFP.
- Applying directly to the VCFP and satisfying the VCFP membership criteria.
