Voluntary Action Oldham - What We Do

Voluntary Action Oldham is the main capacity building development agency for Voluntary and Community groups throughout Oldham.

 

We provide practical support services to voluntary sector organisations and community groups. This includes helping organisations to become constituted, identify funding sources, access information and recruit and support volunteers.

 

Voluntary Action Oldham is based in the centre of Oldham and our premises include a well equipped accessible room suitable for training, meetings etc.

 

Voluntary Action Oldham also carries out strategic work in the Borough. We support the Voluntary, Community and Faith Partnership (VCFP). This is the representative body for our sector, providing representation on many of the panels and partnerships across the Borough including the Local Strategic Partnership. In this way the Sector has a voice within the decision making processes which affect the lives of local people. 

 

Compact-compliant commissioning has led to the voluntary sector being a preferred service supplier and to audit trails which demonstrate better services, and it is now a key strategic partner in re-directing resources to priority areas within Oldham. See www.compactvoice.org.uk/map/oldham
